AARP, the 40-million member nongovernment organization for people age 50 and older, is encouraging employers to apply for the third annual AARP International Innovative Employer Award. This international award recognizes non-U.S.-based employers whose innovative workforce and/or human resource practices address issues relevant to workers aged 50 and older.
In order to maintain a competitive edge in today’s labor market, it is becoming critical for employers to design policies that help attract and retain older workers. Join the list of companies that have received an important award for progressive employment policies in this area and benchmark your policies against leading international employers. Among others, past winners include employers of varying sizes from the private and public sector, including: BMW, Centrica, BT Group, Adecco Canada, Loewe, Deutsche Bahn, Domestic & General, SICK AG, and the Municipality of Horsens. Employer applicants for the award will be asked to provide information on their human resource practices such as:
• Training and Lifelong Learning
• Career Development • Flexible Work Arrangements
• Health Protection and Promotion
• Diversity Promotion
Applications must be received by April 24 2010 and can be completed online at: www.aarpinternational.org/2010employeraward.
