Members of the Committee
Following the European Union's enlargement, the Committee of the Regions is now comprised of 317 members. The existing 222 members have been joined by representatives of the ten new states: Poland - 21, Czech Republic and Hungary - 12, Lithuania and Slovakia - 9, Estonia, Latvia, and Slovenia - 7, Cyprus - 6, Malta - 5.

France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Italy - the EU's largest member states - hold 24 seats each in the Committee. The figure for Spain is 21, while Austria, Belgium, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Sweden have 12 members each. Smaller representations are those of Denmark, Finland, and Ireland - 9 each, with Luxembourg being represented by 6 members.
